Treatment of Children's Deformities Act of 2005
We urge you to contact your Senators and Congressional Representative to support "Treatment of Children's Deformities Act of 2005," currently in committee in the Senate (S. 1132) and the House (H.R. 1000).

This legislation will amend the Public Health Service Act, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974, and the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to require that group and individual health insurance coverage and group health plans provide coverage for treatment of a minor child's congenital or developmental deformity or disorder due to trauma, infection, tumor, or disease.

People should visit www.vote-smart.org to find the names of their representative and senators.  Please email them to encourage them to support these bills.

Help start a legislative revolution! Florida Senate Bill S0482, a bill mandating full comprehensive health insurance coverage for infants, toddlers, and children with plagiocephaly, brachycephaly, scaphocephaly, and other craniofacial structural head deformities and birth defects starting in January of 2007, needs your help. The bill is wanting to be "agenda" to the Senate Banking and Insurance Committee. Once approved and passed by this committee, the bill will proceed onto the Florida Senate Healthcare, then the Ways and Means Committees, and then finally onto the Senate Floor for a vote. [Similar legislation has been proposed in the Florida House of Representatives as House Bill, HB 797.]
